The Arts Society West Sussex support a local Poetry Project
9 Dec 2024
In the Autumn 2024, The Arts Society West Sussex were delighted to welcome back Antosh Wojcik to work with fourteen local schools on their Voices in Nature Poetry project.
Using the National Poetry Day’s theme of ‘counting’, Antosh led workshops inspiring children and young people to look in depth at the beautiful natural environments beyond their classrooms and to respond by writing poetry to reflect their feelings. Valuing every child’s individuality and creativity as well as teaching them about structure and powerful vocabulary, Antosh was thrilled with the children’s poetic responses.
Two weeks later Antosh, returned to the schools to record a small number of very proud children from each school reading their poems to form part of our Voices in Nature Soundscape. The soundscape is hosted on The Art Society West Sussex website : http://www.theartssocietywestsussex.org here you can listen to the children’s voices which we are sure you will enjoy.
