Outing to Leonardslee Gardens (6th June 2023)
The trip to Leonardslee will have two pick up points - 9.15am at the junction of Orchard Avenue/Singlewell Road and 9.30am at Meopham Station. On the way home the drop off will be Meopham Station first and then Orchard Avenue. Please take a note of Lynne Rumsey’s mobile number in case there is a problem on the day 07800 650372 and you need to contact her. She will not put this number on the website so make sure you carry it somewhere about you! A reminder that you cannot take food into the gardens and that you will have to pay for everything with a card as cash is not accepted. Finally fingers crossed for decent weather.There are still a few places available on the coach if you haven’t signed up yet. Please contact Lynne.
Cobham Hall Tour and Cream Tea (20th July 2023)
There are still a few places available for a guided tour and afternoon tea at Cobham Hall on 20th July at a cost of £15 per person. Cobham Hall is a Grade 1 listed building and was the family home of the Earls of Darnley until 1957. It is now a private boarding school for girls. Please register with Hazel Teale (Treasurer) if you are interested in taking part. Participants will need to make their own way to the Hall where there is ample parking.
Annual General Meeting on 9th May 2023.
Members approved unanimously the proposal to increase the annual subscription to £60 for the programme year commencing on 1st September 2023 at the Annual General Meeting on 9th May 2023. Payment to renew your membership is due by 1stSeptember 2023 and our Treasurer, Hazel Teale, will be sending out a letter in the next few weeks with information about how to pay. All members of the Committee were re-elected and thank you to everyone who joined us in the Hall for the meeting. Our programme for 2023/24 is published overleaf and will be available on our website www.theartssocietygravesend.org.uk.
Exhibition by Meopham Art Group
Meopham Art Group are holding their exhibition in the Studio, opposite Bartellas in Meopham commencing on Friday 19th May at 7.30 p.m. and then open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May. Please go along and support them.
Zoom Access Scheme
The Arts Society’s Zoom Access Scheme is to be renamed the Events Access Scheme. Subscribers to the scheme receive a monthly email giving the links for lectures, study mornings and visits that are put on by different societies that are registered with the scheme. To receive the monthly emails you should send an email to membership@theartssociety.org saying “I am a member of The Arts Society Gravesend. Please add me to the Zoom Access Scheme.”
