In 2023 an Arts Society lecturer gave our Society a fascinating insight into the impact of using Art as part of the rehabilitation of Young Offenders.
Since that day, we have been sponsoring a wonderful charity called "Koestler Art"' which the lecturer, Angela Findley, mentioned at the Study Day.
Koestler Arts is the UK’s best-known prison arts charity. They encourage people in the criminal justice system to change their lives by participating in the arts.
They share their artworks with the public, so people can witness this diverse range of voices, stories and talent.
In 2023 a Young Offender at the Feltham Institution received the under 25's Special Award for Mixed Medis, called "It's Not All As It Seems, which was sponsored by The Arts Society Moor Park/ Young Arts.
This year's the winner of the "Rising Star Award”, has produced a sculpture made of wood, called "Bllly-Joe Racing Bike".
The Arts Society Moor Park, Young Arts will continue to sponsor this worthwhile charity and their enthusiastic team.
