Sir Grayson Perry
Sir Grayson Perry
1 May 2023
On 12th April Ian Swankie delivered a really interesting lecture to Horsham Arts Society on the life and works of Sir Grayson Perry. Apparently they both have one thing in common – they are both Freemen of the City of London. Also, Ian owns one of Sir Graysons' limited-edition plates! Ian gave us a stunning and eye-opening talk on this man of many talents – potter, tapestry designer, writer, performer, Reith lecturer, Turner Prize winner, architect – the list goes on and on. And that's before we even get to the frocks! Clearly the quote given about his House for Essex sums up his work quite nicely: 'two nights inside somebody else's migraine'.
