The Arts Society Appleby in Westmorland were delighted to sponsor the children of Great Asby Endowed School with their project to dress Saint Helen's Well in Great Asby. This tradition has its roots in ancient pagan rituals and involved  creating intricate art work on wooden frames adorned with natural materials.  After a week of preparation the children invited friends and villagers for a blessing led by Reverend Francis and celebratory hymns. The event concluded with a lovely afternoon tea at the school prepared by the children.
